It all started when...

My Dad took one of my favorite pictures and blew it up to an 8" x 10" print.   It was a light pink rose and I thought was ~beautiful in this special, big size.  He took one of my small prints and made it into what seemed to be a little bit like "art."  It made a big impression on me.  I was 11 years old.

The lesson I learned was this:: Some of the pictures I so enjoyed taking with my little point & shoot camera were really pretty.  That made me happy and want to take more pictures.  Thanks, Dad!

Then, there was Aunt Christine.  She taught me the fundamentals of a camera and picture-making Summer over Summer on her Nikon FE.  That is when the good stuff really started to happen...   Thank you, Aunt Christine!

Today, I am...

I am a photographer.  It is the way the world looks through the rectangle of my lens, in that moment, that makes me push my finger down - just. right. then.

I enjoy the process of noticing what makes me PAUSE...  what I find to be BEAUTIFUL, and then seeing what these images mean to other people.  I know why an image is meaningful to me; Why is it meaningful to you?
